Unique Wooden Home Decor
The pieces that finish a room are rarely the biggest ones. A mirror in the right spot makes a hallway feel twice its size. A timber screen turns an awkward open-plan corner into a room of its own.
Chocolate Wood has been selling solid timber furniture from our Manly Vale showroom since 2006. Alongside the dining tables and bedroom ranges, we carry a small, carefully chosen selection of timber-framed mirrors and decorative screens — the pieces that do the finishing.
Timber-framed mirrors
We stock mirrors in solid oak, messmate, acacia and mindi wood, in shapes that suit different jobs around the house.
Round and oval — softer than a rectangle, and forgiving in an entryway or above a console table. Our Carolyn and Shimmy mirrors come in oval and half-moon shapes with mindi wood frames.
Tall and full-length — the Shimmy tall mirror works leaned against a bedroom wall or mounted flat. Useful, and it moves light around a room that hasn't got much.
Solid timber frames — the Tara oak mirror and the Nerissa messmate mirror are framed in solid hardwood rather than veneer or moulded composite. The grain shows, and the frame is built to last.
Hamptons and coastal — the Lugano acacia mirror suits the lighter, painted look common in Northern Beaches homes.
Decorative screens and room dividers
Screens are the most underused piece of furniture in Australian homes. They divide a space without building a wall, they hide what you'd rather not look at, and they fold away when you don't need them.
Our Ashe screen is solid mango wood with a carved decorative panel. The Flemington, Liborno and Killara screens come in antique white at heights up to 180cm, and the Zanetti in burnt brown.
They work as a bedhead, a home-office divider in a shared room, or simply as something interesting against a blank wall.

Custom pieces
If you need something to fit a specific space, our Australian custom-made range covers it — the Kimberly vanity and mirror in solid spotted gum was built that way. Give us the dimensions, the timber and the finish, and it's made to your specification in three to four weeks plus delivery.
Why timber
Solid timber ages rather than wears out. A timber-framed mirror develops colour and character over years. The same is true of screens — solid mango and hardwood frames take the knocks that folding furniture inevitably gets.
Everything carries a 12-month manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing faults, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Mirrors and screens are difficult to judge from a photograph — scale and finish especially. Our Manly Vale showroom carries a selected range.
